26 TOPIK

26 Test of Proficiency in Korean is over!
I so worried before taking the exam but it didn't seem so difficult~

Waiting for results announcement ;)

While preparing for the exam I fount quite useful sources and techniques for remembering word and grammar structures.

Now it's time to take a rest and watch doramas~
I'll take up Fashion King dorama

Borrowed here: http://asian-drama.org/fashion-king-4-corner-love-line-began-propels-ratings-to-2-digit/

According to data of AGB Nielsen Media Research agency released on April 3rd, 2012, the rating for episode 5 of SBS Korean drama series Fashion King is 10.1%, a slight increase from 9.6% rating achieved on episode 4. The love relationship of lead characters in Fashion King officially began, making the ratings rose and successfully regained its footing in double-digit number.

In the episode, Young Gul (Yoo Ah In) and Anna (Yuri), together with Jae Hyuk (Lee Je Hoon) and Ga Young (Shin Se Kyung) have favorable feelings to each other, and the love relationships are gradually become clearer. Young Gul and Anna encounter by chance at Dongdaemun and drink together. The drunken Anna said, “Michael recognizes me, really happy.” Young Gul said, “You have your charm,” and send the drunk Anna home.

Jae Hyuk who has a favorable impression to Ga Young comes to Anna’s house as he is worried about Anna, but saw Young Gul is together with Anna, instantly becomes angry. So the love relationship of the four heroes officially began.

In addition, the MBC’s Lights and Shadows and KBS 2TV’s Love Rain broadcast at the same time slot rated 21.7% and 4.4% respectively.

An idiom of a year. 2003

In last post I presented the idiom of the year 2002.
Let's move on ^^

2003's idiom is 우왕좌왕 (右往左往)

- right
- to go; direction
- left
- to go direction

So,  우왕좌왕 means to run pell-mell; hither and thither

An idiom of a year

The idiom of the year 2002 is 이합집산.

In characters (hanja): 離合集散

離 - to separate
合 - to cooperate
集 - to collect
散 - to scatter, strew

So, the meaning of the idiom is 헤어졌다가 모였다가 하는 일  or meeting and parting TT.TT

An idiom of a year

Since a year 2001 Korean scholars (교수신문) choose an idiom of a current year. This is 4-characters expression (사자성어) that reflects an image of the year in the most suitable way and perfectly characterize it.

사자성어 are supposed to be learnt by pupils at school but it's extremelly hard to keep in mind it!! It seems to me that idioms chosen are the most diffucult ((

Well, there is a list of idioms:

Let's sort out this idiom one by one starting with the year 2001:

2001 - 오리무중

 - five
 - a village, ri
 霧- a mist, a fog
 - the middle

The meaning of this idiom is"to be befogged", "to be puzzled"

각골난망

Recently I've take up learning  사자성어=) It's a kind of expression consisted of 4 chinese characters.

Having submitted my  previuos post  about Gyeongju, I've remembered this expression -
각골난망 (刻骨難忘). This means "remembering forever", "cherish the memory of..."
I never forget my trip to Korea and especially in Gyeongju  !! 각골난망

Let's analyze the characters:
means "to cut out, to engrave, to carve"
means "a bone, a secret, an essense"
    means "difficult"
    means "to forget'

So, 각골난망 literally means "something engraved in bone (mind) is difficult to forget"....

Countdown: 17

The day X is closer...
On April, 17 I'll take my first TOPIK - 한국어능력시험.
I've experienced in taking international language proficiency tests, but still...))

I've started learning Korean approximately a year ago.

On yesterday's class I submitted last year test and... I pased!!!!

Now on I will do my best to pass)

파이팅!!!
