I think there are practically no ladies who dislike fashion magazines or don't fond of style and fashion.

Having read all key Russian current issues - Cosmo, Vogue, Glamour, Elle I googled for Korean one~

One more post about one of my favourite city - Daegu.
I remember it as a relatively quite, friendly city comfortable for life. Maybe there are not a lot of places to go out..........

Daegu  lags behind Seoul and Busan in terms of shopping, but there are a lot of interesting items ~
Last year I noticed that men fashion in Korea differs from city to city. z.B. Seoul guys wear pants a la Lee Minho, 7/8 in Busan and shorts in Daegu )))

Celebrities at Andre Kim's fashion shows

As I posted previously, Andre Kim is famous for his splendid dresses.
Korean celebrities were invited to be model at Andre Kim's fashion shows. It's a great honour~

South Korea's Fashion Pioneer

"South Korea's fashion Pioneer", "Magican from Fantasy land... All this words are about the most out-standing Korean fashion designer - Andre Kim.

Andre Kim (1935-2010)

He  was born in 1935 when Korea was occupied by Japan. A son of  rural farmers, he received an excellent education.
Andre Kim's real name is Kim Bong-nam.

He opened his Salon Andre in a center of Seoul at the age of 27 and became a Korea's  first male fashion designer.
After his succeess in Paris (Andre Kim is first Korean designer whose fashion show was held in a world fashion capital) he gained world-wide popularity.

On of the most important sign of Andre Kim's recognition as a fashion designer is his appointment as a Chief Designer for Miss Universe-1981. After that,  in  1988 he designed the uniforms of the Korean athletes for the Seoul Olympic Games and   became a repeated invitee for occasions held by the IOC.
For his major contribution to development of Korean fashion and its international popularization Andre Kim was awarded with South Korea’s Presidential Culture and Art Medal (1997) and Italy’s Cultural Merit Award (2003). Moreover, he was selected as UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador.

Since 1980-s hundreds of Andre Kim's fashion show was held including such high-status events like fashion show for Rotary International Conference (1989), Charity Fashion Show for Seoul International Women Association, fashion show for diplomats.
In 1991 he was awarded at Charity Fashion Show for the Celebration of the 700th Anniversary of Switzerland and for Korean Red Cross.

In 1999 Andre Kim's Fashion on November, 6 mayor of San-Francisco Mr. Willie Brown Jr. announced Andre Kim's day in San Francisco.
On February 10, 2002 he became a Honorable Ambassador for Incheon International Airport.

Andre Kim's Imperia now includes not only fashion clothes but also ceramic ware, home appliances, handbags, jewellery, accessories (umbrella, gloves):

Andre Kim gained international popularity for his chic, posh wegging and evening dresses. This topic deserves a special post.

까도남. 차도남. 따도남.

Have you ever heard about a trend in Korean society - 3 types of men: 까도남, 차도남, 따도남.
What does it mean?

Well, let's sort it out together^^

First, 까도남.  Kkadonam stands for 까칠한 도시 남자  -arrogant city man. Rich, young successful businessman is a typical rep of this type:

Second, 차도남 -차가운 시골의 남자 - cold city man. Unsociable, reserved and closed guy who likes solitude. For others he seems so cold and indifferent. Textbook example of such type is Baek Seung Jo from "Playful kiss" dorama:

look at his gaze - isn't it 차도남's glare?^^ 
And the last type is  따도남 - '따뜻한 시골 남자' - warm city man. This guys are open-hearted, easy-going and really is a soul of a company. He likes jokes and in his compeny you'll never feel boring~
This type appeals me the most. I think that 100% 따도남 is my favourite kpop idol Park Jung Min from SS501~~ Unfortunately I don't know him personally (TT.TT) but his kind smile lets me draw such a conclusion;)
